Your website runs on software, and like any software, it needs ongoing care.
With a Website Care Plan from Tomatillo Design, I handle the routine but important work that keeps your site stable, secure, and running smoothly over time. Updates, backups, hosting, and troubleshooting are all part of it.
Many of my clients keep me on after launch. A Care Plan means I keep hosting the site, run the weekly updates and daily backups, fix anything that breaks, and answer your WordPress questions. You don’t have to think about any of it.

What the Care Plan covers
The Advanced Care Plan covers routine maintenance, support, and small ongoing needs that come up in the normal life of a website.
Larger projects or more substantial changes are scoped separately. That includes things like major new features, structural changes, redesign work, large-scale content entry, or significant third-party troubleshooting outside the normal scope of site care.
Frequently Asked Questions
In general, no. I don’t offer ad-hoc support outside of a Care Plan.
In practice, one-off support creates more risk for everyone. Without regular updates, monitoring, and backups, issues are harder to diagnose, take longer to resolve, and can have wider impacts than expected. Even relatively small problems often depend on context: how the site is configured, what has been updated recently, and what has changed over time.
A Care Plan ensures I’m already familiar with your site and that the basics are being handled consistently. That makes it possible to address problems more efficiently and more responsibly when they do arise.
My hourly rate is $205, but more importantly, reactive support tends to be unpredictable. A Care Plan replaces that uncertainty with ongoing attention, clearer expectations, and a shared understanding of how the site is being maintained.
Not necessarily.
Some organizations have internal technical staff or another developer already handling maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting. In those cases, a full Care Plan may not be necessary.
But for organizations that rely on their website and do not want to manage the technical upkeep themselves, a Care Plan usually creates a much smoother experience. It keeps maintenance from becoming reactive, gives you a clear point of responsibility, and makes the website easier to manage over time.
That depends on how your website fits into your organization’s work.
For organizations that rely on their website and want it to remain stable and well supported over time, a Care Plan is often a good fit. It creates continuity. I’m already familiar with the site, its setup, and its history, which makes ongoing maintenance and problem-solving much more straightforward.
Budgets and internal capacity vary, and there is no single right answer. The goal here is simply to be clear about what is included and how support works, so you can decide whether this arrangement makes sense for your organization.
That is fine.
If you decide to move your site to another host, I’ll help ensure the transition goes smoothly. Once the site is moved, ongoing hosting, updates, backups, security, and troubleshooting would no longer be part of my role unless we establish a separate arrangement.
You may also need to set up a new SSL certificate with your hosting provider. Without one, visitors can see browser security warnings when visiting your site. Any reputable host can help with this, and it is an important part of keeping a website properly secured.
No.
Care Plans are intentionally simple. Either side can cancel with 30 days notice. If you have paid annually and decide to stop, the unused portion will be prorated and refunded.
There is no separate contract to sign. A Care Plan is simply a continuation of the working relationship established during your original project, with clear expectations around ongoing support and responsibility.
That happens sometimes, and it is normal.
Care Plans cover ongoing maintenance, support, and small day-to-day needs. If the site needs a major new feature, a structural change, a redesign, or another substantial piece of work, I’ll scope that separately.
Many long-term client relationships work this way: steady care in the background, with occasional focused projects layered on when needed. That keeps maintenance predictable and makes space to plan larger improvements carefully.
